Entitled, "The Lone Star Quilt", the pattern dates back to the 1830s when the Republic of Texas was born. From 1830-1850, the central star was typically surrounded by smaller stars or other designs but by the late 19th or early 20th century, the star was placed at the center of an undecorated background.
